For burger-joint employee Tammy, a bad day keeps getting worse. She wrecks her car, loses her job, and finds that her husband has been unfaithful. It's time to hit the road, but without money or transportation, Tammy's options are limited. Her only choice is a road trip with her hard-drinking grandmother Pearl, who has a car, cash, and an itch to see Niagara Falls. It's not the escape Tammy had in mind, but it may be what she needs.
Directed by Ben Falcone. Starring Melissa McCarthy, Susan Sarandon, Kathy Bates, Mark Duplass and Gary Cole.
Lyradrift plots Tammy as a star at the centre of its own sky, with related films orbiting it as satellites, gathered from TMDB recommendations, shared themes, Wikidata links (same director, writer, series, source material or subject) and closeness of feel, then chosen for the strongest evidence — the closer and brighter a star, the more strongly it is related. Fly to any satellite to make it the new centre and keep exploring.
