2019 · 110 min · Documentary
In post-industrial Ohio, a Chinese billionaire opens a new factory in the husk of an abandoned General Motors plant, hiring two thousand blue-collar Americans. Early days of hope and optimism give way to setbacks as high-tech China clashes with working-class America.
Directed by Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar. Starring Junming 'Jimmy' Wang, Sherrod Brown, Dave Burrows, John Gauthier and Rob Haerr.
Lyradrift plots American Factory as a star at the centre of its own sky, with related films orbiting it as satellites, gathered from TMDB recommendations, shared themes, Wikidata links (same director, writer, series, source material or subject) and closeness of feel, then chosen for the strongest evidence — the closer and brighter a star, the more strongly it is related. Fly to any satellite to make it the new centre and keep exploring.
