With the city in the throes of a flu epidemic, the Petrov family struggles through yet another day in a country where the past is never past, the present is a booze-fueled, icy fever dream of violence and tenderness, and where – beneath layers of the ordinary – things turn out to be extraordinary.
Directed by Kirill Serebrennikov. Starring Semyon Serzin, Chulpan Khamatova, Vladislav Semiletkov, Yuri Kolokolnikov and Aleksandr Ilyin Jr.
Lyradrift plots Petrov's Flu as a star at the centre of its own sky, with related films orbiting it as satellites, gathered from TMDB recommendations, shared themes, Wikidata links (same director, writer, series, source material or subject) and closeness of feel, then chosen for the strongest evidence — the closer and brighter a star, the more strongly it is related. Fly to any satellite to make it the new centre and keep exploring.
