Beggar boy Krabat is lured to apprentice for an evil, one-eyed sorcerer. With a number of others, he works at the sorcerer's mill while learning black magic. Every Christmas, one of the lads has to face the master in a magical duel, where the boy never stands a chance because the master is the only person allowed to use a secret spell.
Directed by Karel Zeman. Starring Luděk Munzar and Jaroslav Moučka.
Lyradrift plots The Sorcerer's Apprentice as a star at the centre of its own sky, with related films orbiting it as satellites, gathered from TMDB recommendations, shared themes, Wikidata links (same director, writer, series, source material or subject) and closeness of feel, then chosen for the strongest evidence — the closer and brighter a star, the more strongly it is related. Fly to any satellite to make it the new centre and keep exploring.
