18-year-old Angelina shuffles between school, a dead-end job, her exploitative boyfriend, and home, where her life consists of cleaning up after her alcoholic mother and protecting her younger sister from their menacing stepfather. After arranging an escape to San Francisco with her best friend Andrew, she soon finds herself dating a coke-addicted attorney and becoming immersed in the local porn industry, mentored by lesbian director Margaret, who has more than just a professional interest in Angelina's talents.
Directed by Stephen Elliott. Starring Ashley Hinshaw, Lili Taylor, Dev Patel, Diane Farr and Jonny Weston.
Lyradrift plots About Cherry as a star at the centre of its own sky, with related films orbiting it as satellites, gathered from TMDB recommendations, shared themes, Wikidata links (same director, writer, series, source material or subject) and closeness of feel, then chosen for the strongest evidence — the closer and brighter a star, the more strongly it is related. Fly to any satellite to make it the new centre and keep exploring.
